THE "FEITORIA"
The “feitorias” were tranding posts, built to centralize the trade of local products to Portugal, and then to Europe. They functioned simultaneously as market, warehouse, point of support to navigation and customs. They were governed by a “feitor” in charge of governing exchanges, negotiating products of the king, nobility, and merchants, and collecting taxes.

Mr. Feitor, |
Completed at the beginning of the 19th century, the building would be the “feitor's” dwelling, the shop and the warehouse: the front façade facing the street (current reception and conference room), the inner courtyard facing the sea (leisure area and pool), several warehouses on the left and right (guest rooms), and, by the sea, larger warehouses for larger goods (restaurant).
Its ruin required 5 years of reconstruction and was inaugurated on November 10, 2016, as Feitoria Boutique Hotel. |
